A jumbled mess of squee

31 Jan

Good morning my lovelies! How’s everyone doing?

January is always crazy at work, and this year has not been an exception. Customers shipping late or buying after-christmas deals = chaos (still).

How’s the New Year’s Resolutions coming along? Break any, or all of them, yet? Obviously mine isn’t going as well as I planned since I am just now writing my second post of the month. So, big oopsie there :-p

Brightside to the chaos, Gallifrey One is in less than two weeks!!! Can’t wait to see my Who family again ❤

And on top of being totally stoked for Gally, my ribbons finally arrived! They are even cuter than I hoped for! Love love LOVE them!

????????????????????????????????????????????

OH! Did you guys see the new Serenity comics came out this week?!?! THEY. ARE. AMAZINGG!

??????????????????????

Of course I grabbed all three covers. Totally worth it! I won’t give anything away yet, so GO FORTH AND READ THE SERENITY FANTASTICNESS!

Enough of that squee-ing and more, well…squee-ing. My larger version Ninth Doctor arrived. He was my first Doctor and always will be. Love the man!

Dallas Comic Con 2012: Day 2

29 May

Day 2, dun-dun-dunnnnnnn 😉

We woke up early to get ready for the Sunday of the convention. I had planned to do my Army of Ghosts/Doomday Rose Tyler outfit, but I had a raging headache. I put on my Rose makeup, had the wig cap on and then the headache became a migraine. I knew I wouldn’t last 6+ hours in a tight wig, so I said to hell with cosplay and threw on my Shiny Bock Beer shirt and some jeans. Laid back and comfy turned out to be a godsend because it turned out we had plenty of waiting around to do.

Dallas ComicCon 2012: Day One

28 May

So, it has been a week since Dallas Comic Con. I wanted to do this wrap-up the day or two after it was over, but alas that did not happen. I’ve already covered the drive up to Dallas here, so let’s continue on to the first day of the convention.

My badges for the weekend

So, here we go: Continue reading

My experience at the Dallas SciFi Expo

14 Feb

Two words: Amazing and Thrilling.

And yes, I could copy & paste it to my blog, but I added my thoughts to our Cons Are Cool blog. Hop over there to read all about it, plus see a few photos.

And I’ll add more photos soon; hopefully before Gallifrey One this weekend, but don’t hold your breath.

8 Feb

I leave for SciFi Expo in 2 days!! I can’t wait to see Adam Baldwin again and to meet Ron Glass, Sean Maher and Jewel Staite!!!! Now to figure out what to say so I don’t come across like a total derp *sigh*

And theeeeeeeen, 8 days until I leave for LA and Gallifrey One! That is going to be a fantastic time 🙂 I’ve suggested a meetup prior to the convention starting for all of us Austin Whovians.

Ha, I’m such a geek ❤

Dallas SciFi Expo is going to make me go broke!

23 Jan

I’m on cloud nine right now!! Next month, the weekend before Gallifrey  One, is the Dallas SciFi Expo.  My fellow geek chick friend Laura and I are heading up to the expo.  Why, because there is a mini Friefly/Serenity reunion: Ron Glass, Sean Maher, Jewel Staite, and Adam Baldwin.  *squee*

Now you may ask yourself, didn’t she just meet Adam in November? Why yes, yes I did.  But this is a whole nother experience.  And you wanna know why? (don’t click the back button, just say “why?”), because the SciFi Expo is doing a group photo op on Saturday!! I am uber excited and don’t even know how I am able to contain all this geekery flowing through my veins right now.  I already have my Firefly book ready to be signed (which will also be signed by Jane Espenson at Gally), and I’ll be wearing my “Cancel Glee and Renew Firefly” shirt for the photo. (my apologies to all the “gleeks” out there, but come on….”)

The downside to this all is this: the photo-op is $105, and each autograph is $30.  I’ve already got Ron Glass’ autograph that I won at a Can’t Stop the Serenity event (on a map of Miranda), but I would like to keep a complete Firfely book as well, understand? So, I know you’re thinking, if it means this much to you, then just do it.  Wellllllll, I still have Gallifrey One the following weekend.  The photos for those I’ve already purchased (Paul McGann, Camille Codouri, William Russell, Tony Curran, and Nicholas Briggs), and god only knows how much the autographs will cost.  Plus I still have to eat, drink and possibly souvenir it up.  And tips for everyone under the sun.  Bright side, I already have all my costume parts purchased sans a pair of black shoes…..sigh.  February is going to bankrupt me.  So worth it.

Ok, screw it, I’m going to buy the damn photo-op.

How was everyone’s weekend? Doing anything crazy insane and off the wall? Relax? Did everyone’s teams make it into the Superbowl? (besides ine lol).

I’m off to my first class of the day.

Peace and love,

xxx
